How We Work
The style of the mural/art will be impacted by a number of factors:
- The size of the wall.
- Material of the wall (e.g. if the wall is pebbledashed, bricked or rendered etc.)
- The location.
- Equipment required & the length of hire (e.g. scaffold/scissor lift etc.).
- The materials required (e.g. emulsion/spray paint, wood, fixings).
- Will the artist be given full creative licence.
- If the building owner wants to decide on the artist.
- If the building owner has a specific design in mind.
There are three main options when working with prospective clients; be it local businesses, home owners, or local authorities. This document lays out Wood Street Walls three offerings available, detailing artistic control, client input and costs.
Option 1: Full Creative Licence

The chosen artist has complete control of the mural.

The building owner is shown the final design before painting begins.

Option 2: Artist Commission

The building owner/client provides a detailed brief for the artist to respond to.

Designs are reviewed and agreed by building owner/client.

Building owner/organisation pays all costs, including materials and expenses.

Option 3: Hybrid

Wood Street Walls matches the client/building owner with the right artist based on style and available space.

The artist responds to an idea developed by Wood St Walls and the building owner/organisation.

The building owner/organisation is shown the design before painting begins but the artist has final creative decision.
