Sustainability Policy

Wood Street Walls CIC have introduced a sustainability policy to ensure the correct use and re-use of materials.

Key principles of our policy aim to provide the following:

  • Reduce material waste going to landfill
  • Re-use existing waste
  • Where possible, reduce the dependency on toxic materials
  • Recycle waste back at base and take to borough Recycling Centres

2. Re-Use of Existing Stock

Before purchase of any new stock, it is recommended that existing stock within Wood Street Walls' inventory.

Existing paint stocks can be found via a Google Drive available to WSW team members (upon request)

Wood Street Walls CIC commits to choosing suppliers that provide materials from sustainable supply chains where possible. The below list provides the material, certification and suggested suppliers who have the appropriate standard deemed suitable for projects run by Wood Street Walls:

Suppliers - Travis Perkins

Paint: Forest Recycling Project & Paint360 (for Recycled). Leyland (for new paint). Local suppliers based in Walthamstow to provide paint on emergency/ad-hoc basis.

Brushes and Materials - All accessories to be purchased to Eco Ezee. Wood Street Walls have secured a "best price" trade deal for their fully recyclable equipment.

6. Energy Use, Carbon Footprint & Carbon Offsetting

Each 1 Litre of paint saved produces 5 carbon free van delivery journeys.
